I kept my blog private for the first year, refusing to announce it to my friends and family. Occasional posts pop once in a blue moon. An embarrassing beauty article with poor photography and unedited writing. These posts have disappeared. Purged to enact a new phase.
That said, H E Y B A S H improved by its second year. Scrolling through old posts reminds me of all the lessons learned. If I were to now these tips when I was starting out, perhaps I wouldn't have to delete those posts.
So here are 5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting A Blog!

Technically.
Bash Says Hey hit publish in 2014, but I removed all posts from 2014. I considered them 'improper' once I bought a domain. Though Hey Bash launched in July 2015, I consider 10th April 2014 as the start of this blogging journey.
And so Hey Bash is now two years old. I celebrate this birthday as usual. In bed, typing away on a laptop and worrying about something potentially insignificant.
Life of a blogger.
When I got my ukulele in February, many asked I should play some music on my Youtube Channel. I laugh at the ludicrous thought. As friends, parents and strangers will tell you, I'm not a singer. With a Disney Princess voice that can't stay in tune and a limited vocal range. I stick to lullabies often.
That didn't stop me from sitting in front of my camera and filming a cover of You Are My Sunshine.
Ish.
I G O T I N S P I R E D.
Areeba from Not Your Type started a series called 'Words in Books I'll Never Write.' Here I am stealing her amazing idea.
I've always wanted to write my own book. It is the zenith for anyone with a penchant for literature. Anyone can be a writer, but not everyone can be published. Over the years, I have started writing many books and failed to finish all of them. I am great at beginnings, but terrible with endings.
So I write shorts instead. 'Slices,' I prefer to call them. I doubt I will publish them in a hardcover with my name written below a vague title. So I decided to post a few I've written, in the first Words in Books I'll Never Write.

And I couldn't be happier.
You left me stained with black soot. Since I touched your heart, its mess invaded my bones. Defiled my frame with smears of you. So I scrubbed the rotten skin till it bled red. Soaked myself in oils and prayed you disappeared. Your scars still remained, etched into my flesh as marks I never desired.
In desperation, I stepped into a storm to drown. Grey fog enclosed my being. The deluge of cold pools came pouring down. Drenched in clear rain but frozen in heat. I crawled out in white and blue, not a spot left of you.

I think I am finally clean.

I W E A R M A K E U P !
A lot more than I should honestly.
It started quietly, with a powder and mascara. Then exploded into a flurry of shadows, bronzers and falsies. A comparison between 14-Year-Old Me and Present Me will highlight the elevated makeup growth. And while I try to improve my skills as I grow older, there are looks I still rely on. This basic eye shadow look being one of them.
With many requests to film an eye look, I decided to film this Basic Eyeshadow Tutorial over on my Youtube!
