March has been a very busy month. Model UN, UNICEF Workshops, the overwhelming sense of exams around the corner. I'm so thankful it's school break right now. I'm not so thankful that I'll have to study for the majority of it. I love to study as much as the next person, but I wish for a break sometimes.
In all, my March was hectic. So many events happened that I can't sum up in just one post but I'd like to try. It's good though. I like being distracted. I like doing things. I like feeling important.
So anyway, here is my March!
Cutting your hair short makes you realize how honest people are, specifically telling you that you look like a boy. Yes, Mom, Dad, sisters, brother, cousins and nieces. I know I may look like a boy. But as long as I look like a pretty boy, I think I'll be fine.
This isn't the first time I cut my hair into a pixie cut, I've had it short since I was seven but I grew my hair out since I was fourteen. By the time it reached my waist, I knew it needed to be chopped off again. Which you can read about here. I liked that cut, but I became annoyed by how quickly it grew, and how the ends kept sticking out. I needed to visit the salon again.
This time I cut it short and cool with a fringe, something I've never had before. I was ecstatic and couldn't wait to show it off. To be frank, I don't care who thinks what about my hair. Short hair triumphs long hair any day.
So have you ever had a pixie cut? Which side of the battle are you; short hair or long hair? I'd love to know!
And no, I'm not trying to look like Anne Hathaway. I'm trying to look like Audrey Hepburn.
I don't wear makeup every day, but I wear it enough on a regular basis to know what looks good with what on who. Me in particular. Recently, I've come to realize that I tend to reach for specific products that just go so well with each other. Though it has limited to me to just a few products most of the time, I can finish my base in just under ten minutes! An achievement my mom claims is unnecessary.
So this what I use for my everyday base. Note, this is different from formal makeup base etc. Everyday makeup shouldn't have contouring or lots of blush. This is just what I use to look half-way decent and half-way natural when I go out.
Here are the products for my foundation base!
It's been a year since I visited USA. The first time in my then-sixteen-year-old life outside of South East Asia. My dad needed a guardian, and I was available. We stayed with my relatives in Virginia, bordering on Washington, D.C but that's another story. During the trip, we went to New York City for a long weekend. A trip within a trip. And my, what a memorable trip it was.
In hindsight, there are a lot of things I wish I did. I wish I wasn't on my phone so much. I wish took more photos. I wish I stayed up later and talked to more people. Yet there are still many things I did that I'd do all over again if I had the chance to go back. I thought I'd share them with you!
So here are five things you should do in New York! (from the perspective of a small-country girl)

My first Lush product ever. It's difficult to find Lush products here, or anywhere for that matter. It is not a beauty brand many know despite it's acclaim and recent mainstream success. I wanted to try to it out for such a long time but only now have I managed to get my hands on a few!
The Lush BB Seaweed Mask is a soothing and smoothing mask made with all-natural and vegan ingredients. Lush is famous for being one of the most prominent vegan beauty brands. It always acknowledging this at every moment's notice. I have to say, Lush creates a great name for itself. Both as a company and as a manufacturer.

It seems every blogger has this book, usually Kindle edition. Left and right, everyone praises the book. Perhaps it is in part of the author; Sophia Amoruso. CEO and Founder of Nasty Gal, and #GIRLBOSS (Yes, the hashtag and all caps are necessary).
The best way to describe #GIRLBOSS is that it is part-memoir, part-self-help, part feminism book. It shows her from the anti-capitalist who couldn't hold a job for two weeks to the CEO of the fastest growing online retailer. How she manages to take her tiny e-bay shop to a powerhouse name can be found in this book weaved with business tips and funny anecdotes.
