Hey,
It's not Bash writing today.
Instead, a newcomer to the blogging world, a fitness junkie, makeup fanatic and med student studying in Cardiff, Nadiah Hamid.
Today, I want to talk about makeup. Specifically, the thirty-five-colour Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette in collaboration with Morphe Brushes.
I have created three eye looks with three different colour schemes solely using this palette to really showcase its versatility. I hope you enjoy it!

1. Sultry golden-brown half-cut crease:

Everyone loves the classic black and gold colour combination.

Cutting the crease can be as stressful as trying to get your eyeliner even, but patience is key. I used MAC's Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre to cut my crease, layering the beautiful golden foiled shadow, Queen, on top. A dry, flat brush is perfectly adequate to apply these foiled shadows, as most of them are super pigmented.

Left to right:
Creamsicle, Central Park, Abyss, Queen, Beam

To complete the eye look, I took Creamsicle and Central Park on my lower lid and highlighted my inner corner and brow bone with Beam. I quickly applied some eyeliner with Kat Von D Beauty's Tattoo Liner in Trooper. I decided not to apply wings because I really wanted to focus on the half-cut crease. But if this look were to be recreated with a winged liner, it would still look stunning.
Although black and gold would pair beautifully with a classic red lip, I decided to couple this eye look with a slightly more edgy lip colour, using Kylie Cosmetics' Metal Lipstick in Reign.
2. Cranberry Halo Eye
Warm, reddish tones are my absolute favourite colours. They exude passion and make me feel bold and valourous every single time I wear these kind of colours. Hopefully, you will too.

For the crease, I blended in M.F.E.O. before darkening the inner and outer corners of my lid with the shadows, Hunts and Jacz, leaving the centre of my lid bare. I would constantly go back and forth between my crease colour and the deeper shadows to ensure that everything was blended seamlessly.
For the centre of my lid, I used Little Lady to achieve that bright, shimmery halo effect. But I also used a bit of the foiled shadow, Cranapple, to help blend Little Lady with the darker corners.

On the lower lid, I blended in Hunts and Jacz to even out my eyes. I finished this look off with a fierce black winged liner and paired it with the Kylie Cosmetics' Matte Liquid Lipstick in Candy K, layering their Gloss in Literally on top.

Left to right:
M.F.E.O., Huntz, Jacz, Little Lady, Cranapple

This is undoubtedly my favourite eye look between the three, because of how often I gravitate towards these colours when I put on my eyeshadow.

3. Datin Crease Eyeliner
Have you ever been out during Raya and you bump into that one aunty that packed on bright blue eyeshadow on their lids and paired it with an even brighter orange lipstick?
Well, this palette screams to you with a Tiffany blue shimmer, Pool Party, that is arguably the palette's most unique shade. And I had to use it for an eye look.

I started off by blending Butter and Pooter into the crease. Despite this look focusing on the blue and green, I always like to have a neutral crease to allow better blending of the brighter colours.
Next, I took the matte shadows, Jada and Enchanted, to darken my outer corners. As you can see, I attempted the crease liner with this look. This meant that I had to be careful not to blend these brighter shadows too far up my crease.

Left to right:
Butter, Pooter, Jada, Enchanted, Pool Party, Twerk
The star of the show, Pool Party, was applied all over my lid.
For my lower lid, I used the shimmery dark blue shadow, Twerk, to contrast with the brighter blues and greens.
This eyeliner look was super intimidating when I decided to give it a shot. Don't worry if you feel that too, I have faith in you. I started off with a regular winged liner, using Tarte Cosmetics' tarteist Clay Paint Liner in Navy. I chose a navy blue liner instead of black to really emphasize the blue hues of this eye look.
The tricky part: drawing a fine line from the point of your winged liner to the centre of your lid, along your crease line.
Take your time.
If you're thinking, "a regular winged liner already stresses me out, Nadiah. How am I supposed to do a crease liner?"
Just be reminded that I was shockingly terrible at applying winged liner a few years ago. And the best advice I can give to you: practise, practise, practise. You will eventually learn from muscle memory the amount of pressure you need to apply, and where on your eyes the wing should end to suit your eye shape.

Finally, as promised, the bright orange lipstick I am wearing is the Matte Liquid Lipstick in 22 by Kylie Cosmetics.

Now you, too, can be a Datin.
Makeup is just fun and games, and is my favourite art form to express myself. At the end of the day, you can wipe it all off.I hope you have been inspired, and I hope you continue those vibes to inspire others with your creative makeup looks.

Thank you for having me!

I've been listening to Paramore too much.
I know this because I listened to their latest album while creating this look. Full of pop punk, their great beat and general aesthetic compelled me to put on makeup inspired by Paramore. This is the finished look.
Bold yellow eyeshadow and a red lip. And I love it.

For the entire look, I used two shades from NYX Ultimate Shadows Palette in Brights. First off, I took NYX Eyeshadow Base as a primer.
I took the orange-yellow shade and bright yellow shade, the two from the lower right corner of the palette. I used the orange-yellow shade as a transition shade and the yellow shade on the lid. I applied TheBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer as an inner corner highlight. This created dept into a bold look.
As a final touch, I lined my waterline and applied HudaBeauty False Lashes in Samantha.
For highlight, I also used The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer and for blush, I used Nars Blush in Orgasm. For contour, I took out my NYX Highlight & Contour Pan, taking the last two contour shades. For lips, I'm wearing NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Kitten Heels.

Now, you can show off your inner cool clown, or alternatively, represent Brunei in a makeup contest.
I would wear this look out, perhaps not now, but definitely soon. I wish to see bolder looks hitting the streets. Especially since its the Summer time. All thanks to Paramore.
Eid is in three days.
It is our festive season. When we feel the end of our fast and beginning of our celebration. Everyone rushing to buy their dresses, or hang their decorations. It is as exciting as it is exhausting.
Eid is one of the best times to experiment with makeup. I can slather on as much powder and shadow as I want, and no one bats an eye. Everyone wants to look their best during Eid. So I came up with four makeup looks for the festive season!
Here are some Eid-ready looks!

DARK BROWN SMOKEY EYE & LIP
I always find myself reaching for darker shades as Eid continues. I'm usually out at night at a family friend's party full of Pepsi and karaoke. A dark brown smokey eye is perfect for those nights out. This one in particular is easy.
For the eyes, I only used two colours from the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette. I blended Coco into my crease as my transition shade then applied Dubai on my entire lid. NYX Gel Liner in Black helped create a smudged winged liner. As a final touch, I applied House of Lashes' Iconic Falsies.
As for lips, I'm using Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Flirt, a cool tone brown that completed this look.
PRETTY IN PINK
Get pretty in pink!
In conjunction with my Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette review, I made a Full Glam video featuring my favourite products. I used a mixture of Sandalwood, Henna and Bossy in the crease and Fling on the lids. Then I took Black Truffle on the outer corner, and a hint of Angelic and Moondust as my inner corner highlight.
No glam look is complete without thick liquid liner, made with NYX Matte Liquid Liner and my favourite Huda Beauty Lashes in Samantha. A nude lip like Huda Beauty Liquid Lipstick in Trendsetter sets the look.
SOFT & FRESH 'BEAUTY'
Mother says I need to look fresh for Eid. To look like you're wearing makeup 'but not too much.' So this look is perfect for glowing makeup, without any bold statement.
I used theBalm's Nude Tude Palette in Sultry, blending it on the lid. Then applied Snobby and TheBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer on the centre of the lid for shimmer. This creates a soft halo effect. I quickly lined my eyes then used Huda Beauty Lashes in Giselle. It is perfect pair for these looks.
For the face, I kept everything blended. I used TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer for my highlighter, and contoured with NYX Contour Pans. The lips were kept nude with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi.
POP OF COLOUR
Adding a little colour during Eid keeps makeup looking bold, without overpowering it. Though I used yellow, you can easily use other colours like green or blue to suit you.
I used Makeup Geek Eyeshadows in Creme Brûlée and Coco Bear to create a basic eyeshadow look. To add the pop of colour, I applied NYX Eyeshadow Base as a white base on the inner corner. With a bright yellow shade from NYX Ultimate Shadows Palette in Brights.

I quickly lined my eyes with NYX Matte Liquid Liner then applied Mi-in Lashes in Santorini, for light cat-eye lashes. Lips were kept a nude brown with Alapnian So Alap! Matte Lip Cream in Fatima.

This was originally going to be five, but time restricted me.
I've worn all these makeup looks out. Each look is unique but beautiful in its own right. Whether you go dark and smokey, or light and fresh, Eid is a time to feel your best. Dressing up and looking nice help quite a bit.
So whatever you decide to wear, I wish you a happy Eid Mubarak!
What are your go-to festive season looks?
I am infamous for spending hours doing my makeup.
This is true. I do spend hours trying to perfect my winged liner or carving a pout. It has become a running joke, to the point my flatmates are surprised when I finish my makeup before them. Though I can poke fun of myself, it does leave me running late occasionally. Occasionally may be an understatement.
As a measure to prevent further tardiness, I evaluated the time taken for each step. So I started to skip a few steps and kept the essentials.
And behold, My 10 Minute Makeup Look!
PRODUCTS USED:
This has become my go-to look during Uni days. When I need to be quick for class but don't want to scare anyone on my way.
I only applied my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Shade 20 and set with MAC Light Plus Mineralize Skin Finish. I apply TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer as highlighter and Sleek Pink Lemonade Trio as blush since I like having dimension to my round face. A bit too much dimension if I may add.
Since I wear my glasses, I keep my eyes relatively bare. I add a light wash of Mary-Lou and heavy coat of Benefit They're Real! Mascara. For lips, I reach for an easy-to-wear nude like Huda Beauty Liquid Lipstick in Venus with Essence XXXL Lip Gloss on top.

So easy, it doesn't warrant a tutorial. Yet I still made one.
This look is quickly becoming a favourite for casual days. Days I want to make the most minimum effort to look decent. Removing colour-correcting, foundation and eyeliner from my everyday look has cut my makeup time in half.
Still running late though. Perhaps that's just me.

ugh valentine's day
It is hated as much as it is loved. A consumer-driven reminder of society's obsession with trivial pursuits in romance. Hence my frustration when shops sell chocolate hearts, and mild disgust when couples hold hands. So I eat the chocolate alone with my two free hands.
I never celebrated Valentine's Day. Never cared enough to enjoy myself. However, I take the holiday as an opportunity to use shades I rarely wear. Specifically, pinks. God knows I rarely wear pink.
Here is a Valentine's Day makeup tutorial featuring Anastasia Beverly Hills' Modern Renaissance Palette.
Applying a full face, taking photos then proceed to wash it off immediately.
Ever since I received Soulmatte Cosmetics' Matte Lip Kit from Xema Su, I wanted to wear it. For the past few months, I've settled for brown nudes rather than this beautiful bright red. With the intention of starting fresh with a slew of new makeup looks, I decided to film it.
So this is a relatively quick and simple look featuring soft eyes and a bold lip.
As is everyone nowadays.
Dark lipstick requires confidence to wear. To be so bold and becoming. Drawing attention to the femme smile. It will beckon and it will seek and it will be beautiful. But dark lipstick can be quite unforgiving. A difficulty to attain. I note by the stained teeth or over-lined lips.
So with three lipsticks in hand, here is an easy way to wear dark lips!
I T F E E L S L I K E F O R E V E R . . .
Since I've filmed an actual tutorial.
Sitting down in front of a camera, behind a makeshift wall and playing around with makeup. Quiet among the lights, just excited to play with eyeshadows. Shadows from ABH's Modern Renaissance Palette specifically. When it arrived, I knew I had to create a look with it.
And filmed the process.

And Selamat Hari Raya!
Chomping on food, meeting old friends and making awkward conversation with family. There's truly nothing like Eid. Hence why I love it so dear. My favourite part is getting ready. Able to dress my best, and slather makeup without hassle. For this year, I thought I would share a few looks. Best for the festive season but easy for beginners.

And most likely, you will be wearing makeup. A lot of it.
By the start, we pamper ourselves with expensive looks, with great flicked liner and contour sharp. It won't last. By the end of the day, mascaras will smudge and lipsticks will fade. An unfortunate, inevitable occurrence. However, there are some ways to minimise the outcome with just a few extra steps.

Let's ignore my stunning, totally real blue-green eyes and focus on the matter at hand. What's the secret to glowing skin? Is it Inner Peace? Happiness? Kindness? Nope.
It's highlight. Lots of highlight.
Also known as 'Strobing,' this finish has become rather popular this year. A strong glow for dewy skin. I made a quick step-by-step Strobing Tutorial a year ago. I thought I would revisit the concept and improve on it. This time, focusing on creating a strong strobe with a warmer finish.
So here is my revamped Strobing Tutorial! How to Achieve Glowing, Dewy Skin!
