I don't want to be a time bomb. Tick. Tick. Tock.
I don't want to bottle up frustration, hide anger and let words stab into me, let the shards stay in me then rip them off when everyone else is asleep. The clock pauses. Then it ticks. Tick. Tick. Tock.
It's too much effort to get angry, and be angry, and stay angry. I say to myself. Let the clock continue to tick. Tick. Tick. Tock. Before it self-destructs.
Let it explode. Fits and screams erupt until cries are left hoarse and breathless. Let it burn. Fire cackles that burns numb flesh. Let the rubble disappear. Stand up, and wipe the waterworks, and wash away the ashes. Let it begin again.
I don't want to self-destruct.
It seemed like eons ago when Dresslink approached me, asking whether I would like to collaborate with them. So I browsed through the site, curious. The first thing you would notice is the wide range of clothes and accessories for the ridiculously cheap.
Many, many bloggers have worked with them to mixed-to-positive reviews. Some enjoyed the experience, some did not. I would be lying if I said I wasn't skeptical at first. My mother convinced me to give it a try.
So I picked a few of my favourite pieces from the site to show you.
This is how the cool kids dress like right? Leather jacket, skinny jeans, graphic t-shirt and a beanie. I wish that I could be like the cool kids. All the cool kids, they seem to fit in.
This is also the only picture of my shoes. Why? Before taking these shots, I hurdled through deep puddles then had a cup of Coca-Cola spilled on these nice shoes at the mall. It's been a week, I still don't know how to clean them.
I learnt my lesson from my last shopping spree. There is a time to be frugal, and a time to shop. If you may never go to a nice store for another year, then perhaps you should splurge a bit more for those cute shoes and form-fitting jeans.
With that in mind, I'm incredible happy with the pieces I got from Uniqlo and H&M. A month ago, I made a Weekend Wishlist here detailing the many basics I lacked. Focusing on what you need, rather than what you want, is the easiest way to spend your money wisely.
So here are the basic staples I got in Singapore!
There are some things in the world I am good at, but posing is not one of them. I will never learn how to pose for outfits. I swear. My mother and sister keep pointing out my legs are not well-positioned, nor do I look remotely comfortable. Both statements are accurate, shown in Exhibit A.

'I don't need you. I have the internet.'
Sums up my life quite nicely.
I slept early last night, at five in the afternoon and woke up at seven. It was a compilation of exhaustion. In just one day, I had to do makeup for a short play, present a critical analysis about Othello through a Feminist Perspective, prepare for exams and the Singapore trip, with only four hour sleeps every night. In all, a ten hour sleep was heaven.
The camera quality is not the best. I'm testing out how well my camera phone is since I'll be bringing it along to Singapore. My own camera is too big and bulky to bring (and it's not even a DSLR). So my Samsung will for now though.
Do you think I should bring my camera or perhaps my phone is good enough? I'd love to know your thoughts!
A weekend wishlist!...On a weekday. A Wednesday. Why? Because alliteration, that's why.
Wishlists aren't for me. I don't need a lot of things to live but my wishes are endless. Clothes, books, makeup. I can't count them all. I wish for many things but only need few.
That said, I lack many basic staples needed to make my wardrobe versatile. Since I'll be going off to Singapore next week on a school field trip, I decided that this is the best time to. Yes, I'll be visiting museums and going on workshops for most of the trip. But you should never underestimate the power of people like me. We will always find time to shop.
I do have a budget to keep to though. So to limit overspending, I decided to make a wishlist. Compile what clothes I need, than the clothes I want. That way I would make use of all the items bought than just one or two.
I doubt I'll go on an epic shopping spree and buy these all in one trip though. The last time I wanted to go on an epic shopping spree, my frugality got the best of me. Instead, I left with just a nice, cozy sweater with 'Pancakes & Milkshakes' written in cursive.
So what do you think is the best basic piece to have in a closet? I think a chambray shirt and a leather jacket, because they are so versatile and effortless. I'd love to know your thoughts!
Cutting your hair short makes you realize how honest people are, specifically telling you that you look like a boy. Yes, Mom, Dad, sisters, brother, cousins and nieces. I know I may look like a boy. But as long as I look like a pretty boy, I think I'll be fine.
This isn't the first time I cut my hair into a pixie cut, I've had it short since I was seven but I grew my hair out since I was fourteen. By the time it reached my waist, I knew it needed to be chopped off again. Which you can read about here. I liked that cut, but I became annoyed by how quickly it grew, and how the ends kept sticking out. I needed to visit the salon again.
This time I cut it short and cool with a fringe, something I've never had before. I was ecstatic and couldn't wait to show it off. To be frank, I don't care who thinks what about my hair. Short hair triumphs long hair any day.
So have you ever had a pixie cut? Which side of the battle are you; short hair or long hair? I'd love to know!
And no, I'm not trying to look like Anne Hathaway. I'm trying to look like Audrey Hepburn.

I was absurdly tired this morning. I slept late due to a high dose of caffeine at ten o'clock, and woke up too early to finish a few blog stuff and to prepare for Model UN. You can see the bags under my vacant stare if you look closely. Though it shouldn't be surprising, I am seventeen after all. The last year of adolescent should be spent staying up and partying. However, my definition of partying is staying home with an 8tracks tab open and making plans.
Sounds perfect to me.
In other news, my favourite boots' faux leather is beginning to scuff and tear. It's not terrible but it's noticeable. Do you have any clue how to fix the scuffing?

I have been incredibly sick these past few days. The rainy season has brought its terrible diseases along including the flu. Since Thursday, I've been coughing and sneezing. I spent my Friday with a ball in my throat and a pit in my stomach. So naturally, I went to lunch with my grandmother the next day. I felt horrible, but I looked wonderful! Well, as wonderful as I could.
