But first, lemme take a selfie.
After all, I am a narcissistic millennial, obsessed with social media by documenting every aspect of my life. The current state of my face included. As such, I have taken many selfies in my life, from an old 3rd Generation iPod to my current iPhone 6Plus, encased by Lumee. In my honest opinion, I think I've learned a few things.
Here are some tips on how to take the perfect selfie!
FIND YOUR ANGLES
Most of us are not born with symmetrical faces but we can fake it. By changing your posture through minute movements, it can help make your jawline sharper and face slimmer.
I know many people have a prefered side, a running joke among bloggers is the side we stand. if you look at my Instagram, you'll notice I usually tilt my jaw to the right or show the left side of my face. It's my go-to angle. If you look closely at other Instagrammers, you'll find similarities between their poses.
Like the last tip, it's all about angles. Keeping your phone up high and pointing the camera downwards, elongates your face and gives the illusion of bigger eyes. I do this with all my selfies like this or this.
Make sure your phone is far from your face as possible. Bringing it too close enlarges the centre of your face due to the camera's lens, making your nose look wider than it actually is.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NATURAL LIGHT
My favourite time to take photos is in the early morning when the sun has risen but no one else, or mid-afternoon when the light is bright. Lighting is important when taking photos so you won't have any grainy quality and easier to edit (if you want to)
If I am taking a photo in a dimly lit area or at night, I use Lumee. This one is their LuMee Duo Marble Case. The case features two warm LED lights, which give off a nice cast on the skin and fill any shadows. Did I mention they are also rechargeable and dimmable?
USE PROPS
To make a selfie more fun and interesting, use props!
Easy as grabbing a milkshake or a boyfriend, but I find milkshakes much more affordable and taste better. It incorporates some fun into a selfie. Play with poses, find new ways to use products into shots, and overall, have some fun!
TAKE MULTIPLE SHOTS
Take. All. The. Shots.
Take three hundred shots to get the perfect one. Where the sun hits your skin just right, and your jawline cuts and your milkshake isn't half empty. Selfies aren't a science nor an art, they are a fun way to capture your look then and now. Taking multiple shots helps your mini-photoshoot come to life.
what are your tips for a perfect selfie?

I'm a simple girl with a love for simple colours.
A style some might argue is 'lame,' but I say it's minimalist. I stick to blacks and whites, with the occasional pop of pale colours somewhere. It's an easy way to dress in the morning, especially in university, when I would rather come to seminars in pyjama bottoms and t-shirts.
So when I received these Lady Qomash shawls, I took it as a challenge. I would incorporate these ombre scarves (something I've never worn) into my style.
So how did I do?
LOOK ONE
Of course I would fall in love with the Hydrangea Black. From lightweight satin silk and design, the shawl is perfect to wrap around your neck during the winter.
The hand drawn design with the sweeping ombre caught my eye immediately. Its delicate floral pattern is subtle against the black and white. It provides enough edge for girls like me, who enjoy looking a bit bolder but still elegant.
I kept this idea in mind when I styled it.
HYDRANGEA BLACK
I stuck to my colour scheme to match this shawl. Pairing this ombre shawl with an outfit to compliment, I wore a New Look White Shirt and Zara Pleather Leggings.
As for the scarf style, I pinned the white part to my head and wrapped it loosely. I let the long side hang as I wanted to emphasise the ombre against the outfit's colour block. To finish the look, I wore my ASOS Pink Winter Coat as a pop of colour.

LOOK TWO
Their Hydrangea Rainbow scarf makes me feel like a unicorn.
Made from the same lightweight satin silk, the scarf reminds me of a rainbow pop ice-cream. With its soft ombre and bold flower print, it's definitely for the girly-girls at heart. The shawls drapes so well against any colour scheme. As for me, I stuck with black.
As usual.

For the second look, I went for a basic Uniqlo Black Shirt and Superdry Jeans, completing the base with my Zara Oversized Jacket. I wore the Hydrangea Rainbow as a pop of colour against my all-black outfit. This keeps the outfit classy, but still young and playful.
The shawl wrapped loosely, keeping the long side falling across my chest. This provided coverage and emphasise the ombre detailing in the outfit.

Lady Qomash is a small company with big ideas, as their designs infuse art and fashion together. Most notable in their scarf collection, created with watercolour pencils. I can't simply limit myself to these two scarves, since they are so versatile. Each scarf is 90RM (BND 30), and available to purchase at their website here!
You can find them on Instagram or Facebook, where they update regularly. If you want to purchase these scarves you can find them here!

A universal phrase to mean 'we'll say we will go to that new cafe together but never will.'
Bruneians have a mutual love for appetizing food and obsession with new endeavors. Not a criticism, just an observation. I notice whilst typing away at the fifth cafe-restaurant hybrid to open this year.
The new cafe filled with young adults, happy to discuss life over steaming plates. This is just one place out of many, people seem to visit. No longer is there just Coffee Bean or Starbucks. Brunei, as Brunei sees fit, make their own culture. It is the new Cafe Culture. Aptly titled.
Now chains of ever-growing and ever-popular places pop up to serve. But with that, continues the rise of pollution. Note the non-biodegradable plastics and foam littering the streets. Hence why I started using KeepCup*

Perhaps I am a sucker for pretty things that makes things prettier. Perhaps I'm conforming to the style of Instagram babes and YouTube personalities. Perhaps I just want to look nice.
I've been starting to use false eyelashes more often. For everyday wear when I want to feel pretty without going too overboard. You can argue that wearing eyelashes is already too much. I thought that too. Then I put on E.Asbellah False Eyelashes* and life changed.
I truly am a sucker for pretty things that makes things prettier.

I am none of those things.
I can say it with complete and utter confidence. The most badass thing about me is my literal bad ass. So bad it hurts, figuratively. I am not bold, not ballsy and definitely not a badass. Haus of Jimmy R* makes me want to be though.
Based in Brunei but with a world class eye, Haus of Jimmy R provides amazing designs for all. Handcrafted statement jewellery galore, Haus of Jimmy R's pieces almost speak with their own personalities. Ones that cater to their badasses and the wannabes like me.
I made a quick announcement earlier this month. Hidden and quick since it mainly focused on Fright Night. In that post, I said I would further elaborate on it later. To talk about the most taboo topic for bloggers. The dreaded, the terror, the horror. More frightening than all of the SFX looks found on the internet.
Someone's running away with fingers in their ears.
I don't wear a lot of accessories. Usually, it's just my wristwatch and perhaps a necklace if I'm feeling fancy. As the year goes on, I found myself looking into more accessories to pair with my clothes. The curse of becoming a fashion victim. Finding excuses to buy pretty products.
Though, I wanted classic and elegant designs. Nothing bold or extravagant, but timeless pieces were hard to find. That's where Eve and Rosie* comes in.
From rings to bracelets to necklaces, they have such a great selection for girls like me. Broke but still finding ways to look cute. Based in Brunei, they were so kind to send some gorgeous pieces to review.
