It has been a week of Eid and I am exhausted.
I went out for the past week. Dressed up to the nines and makeup slathered on my face. At the start, I put on my best lashes and lined my lips with precious. By the end, I wore glasses to hide the lack of concealer and foundation. So by Sunday night, I was exhausted but relieved.
So I switched on my camera and filmed a video. Here are Reasons Why I Love Eid.
So what are your favourite things about Eid?
Happy Eid Al-Fitri everyone!
The blessed month has arrived to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
I wait for this time to reflect all the changes in life since the last Eid. My cheeks are fuller, braces no longer, and still loving Eid. It is the time of year I look most forward to, if only to dress up nice and show you my outfits.
So here are my outfits from Eid!
shawl : Radiusite | dress : Poplook | jewellery : (family heirlooms)
shoes : Prada
Going simple for the first day of Eid, because I didn't do anything.
This Poplook dress was from its 2016 collection. Originally my sister's but I managed to slip into it for this year. Barely, I might add. I realised how much weight I gained since last year when the dress couldn't lift past mid-thigh.
Radiusite Oxford Shawl added a bolder print to the look, matching the dress' light blue-grey hues.

I bought this Baju Kurung set the next day I arrived in Brunei.
Still half-asleep when we drove to Bajoo, in search of new Eid dresses. Since I returned half-way through Ramadan, everyone had bought their clothes and I had leftovers. Searching through the racks, my mother picked up Jovian Izu Baju Kurung in Blue from their LS for Jovian collection. The shantung and heavy crepe fabric wrapped around my figure, and printed skirt fell just above my ankles.
I fell in love as soon I put it on. Much to my delight, the LS for Jovian Baju Kurung is available on Zalora! (Use ZBAPD013 for 15% off!)
As a contrast to the blue top, I wore dUck Matte Satin Silk Scarf in Sweet Chili. It matched the skirt's pink-reddish hues. My mother made sure the metal tag hung over my shoulder. The little duck sat secure, as if it was proud of its wearer.

I'm not going to lie. I feel like such a Jackie O in Bajoo's Rania from their Eid collection. The flared tiered sleeves and ostrich plumes add interesting elements to the top. Whilst the long black skirt drapes to the floor like a mermaid's tale. What else can I say? I looked fantastic.
You can tell how much I adore this specific Asha Karim Scarf as I wore it last Eid and during London Fashion Week. The soft teal blue and silver-grey embroidery is perfect. It provides the pop of colour I always seek whenever I wear a black ensemble.
DAY 1: POPLOOK & RADIUSITE | DAY 2: JOVIAN & DUCK
DAY 3: BAJOO & ASHA KARIM
Three days spent driving around in a car, meeting friends and family, and dressed in my best. It's fun, it's nice, it's good.
I forget why I love Eid so much until it is Eid. It is for my friends and family, and myself. To take a step back and focus on the loves of life. And clothes. Because obviously.
What do you like to wear for festive events?
Eid is in three days.
It is our festive season. When we feel the end of our fast and beginning of our celebration. Everyone rushing to buy their dresses, or hang their decorations. It is as exciting as it is exhausting.
Eid is one of the best times to experiment with makeup. I can slather on as much powder and shadow as I want, and no one bats an eye. Everyone wants to look their best during Eid. So I came up with four makeup looks for the festive season!

DARK BROWN SMOKEY EYE & LIP
I always find myself reaching for darker shades as Eid continues. I'm usually out at night at a family friend's party full of Pepsi and karaoke. A dark brown smokey eye is perfect for those nights out. This one in particular is easy.
For the eyes, I only used two colours from the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette. I blended Coco into my crease as my transition shade then applied Dubai on my entire lid. NYX Gel Liner in Black helped create a smudged winged liner. As a final touch, I applied House of Lashes' Iconic Falsies.
As for lips, I'm using Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Flirt, a cool tone brown that completed this look.
PRETTY IN PINK
Get pretty in pink!
In conjunction with my Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette review, I made a Full Glam video featuring my favourite products. I used a mixture of Sandalwood, Henna and Bossy in the crease and Fling on the lids. Then I took Black Truffle on the outer corner, and a hint of Angelic and Moondust as my inner corner highlight.
No glam look is complete without thick liquid liner, made with NYX Matte Liquid Liner and my favourite Huda Beauty Lashes in Samantha. A nude lip like Huda Beauty Liquid Lipstick in Trendsetter sets the look.
SOFT & FRESH 'BEAUTY'
Mother says I need to look fresh for Eid. To look like you're wearing makeup 'but not too much.' So this look is perfect for glowing makeup, without any bold statement.
I used theBalm's Nude Tude Palette in Sultry, blending it on the lid. Then applied Snobby and TheBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer on the centre of the lid for shimmer. This creates a soft halo effect. I quickly lined my eyes then used Huda Beauty Lashes in Giselle. It is perfect pair for these looks.
For the face, I kept everything blended. I used TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer for my highlighter, and contoured with NYX Contour Pans. The lips were kept nude with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi.
POP OF COLOUR
Adding a little colour during Eid keeps makeup looking bold, without overpowering it. Though I used yellow, you can easily use other colours like green or blue to suit you.
I used Makeup Geek Eyeshadows in Creme Brûlée and Coco Bear to create a basic eyeshadow look. To add the pop of colour, I applied NYX Eyeshadow Base as a white base on the inner corner. With a bright yellow shade from NYX Ultimate Shadows Palette in Brights.

I quickly lined my eyes with NYX Matte Liquid Liner then applied Mi-in Lashes in Santorini, for light cat-eye lashes. Lips were kept a nude brown with Alapnian So Alap! Matte Lip Cream in Fatima.

This was originally going to be five, but time restricted me.
I've worn all these makeup looks out. Each look is unique but beautiful in its own right. Whether you go dark and smokey, or light and fresh, Eid is a time to feel your best. Dressing up and looking nice help quite a bit.
So whatever you decide to wear, I wish you a happy Eid Mubarak!

Even if I am getting older.
More cynical and livid. Eid is something I look forward to every year. A constant good in my life. This year is no different, just 'prettier,' I like to comment. Dolling up, looking better every year. Last year, I featured my Three Days of Eid 2015.

And Selamat Hari Raya!
Chomping on food, meeting old friends and making awkward conversation with family. There's truly nothing like Eid. Hence why I love it so dear. My favourite part is getting ready. Able to dress my best, and slather makeup without hassle. For this year, I thought I would share a few looks. Best for the festive season but easy for beginners.

I go to a sixth form college. My school, PTEM recently had our annual Hari Raya Aidilfitri event. A celebration for the end of Ramadhan and the only time we get to dress up in clothes other than our crisp white uniforms. In short, it’s the closest we will ever get to an actual prom, sans dancing, partying and all that hullabaloo.
This annual event makes us dress to the nines, in bright colourful outfits. There were so many beautiful ladies and fine-looking gents around the school. These were those that caught my attention, but certainly not all of them.
So here is PTEM's Best Dressed (from a small pool of people)
Happy Eid Al-Fitr everyone!
Or as I would usually say it, Selamat Hari Raya!
A celebration for the end of Ramadhan, where we dress up, visit houses and celebrate. It's such a great time, and many cultures celebrate it differently. In Brunei, we dress up in traditional garb, Baju Kurung but now, it's more like Baju Fesyen. It's unique and culture-bound, that some may be unaware of.
So here are my three outfits for three days of Eid!
