"she took the midnight train, going anywhere."
No, she took the Piccadilly Line to SoHo.
She makes her way through the busy London streets. A rugsack over her shoulder and headscarf wrapped quickly. Always with a cup of coffee in one hand, the other pushing her glasses up. Dresses for the wet weather but forgets about the puddles. Heels always soaked by the end of the day. This is the life chosen and the life lived.
The small town girl lives a big city life. Hoping she won't shatter like the big city dreams.

I admit. I visit London too often.
Despite living in Exeter, I find myself sitting in a passenger car to Waterloo and back every other month. Whether it is for work or leisure. London is a two and a half hour train ride that becomes tedious after a while. Sometimes I wish I studied in a university much closer to London. It would make travelling easier, cheaper and feel closer to the city life.
Yet I am a small town girl at heart, who moved from one to another. While I enjoy dreaming of cities, I reside staying in towns. Perhaps one day, I will love city life. Just not yet.
