If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you might have known my Sixth Form had their graduation ceremony. Academic Achievers were handed hard glass, symbolising the literal sweat and tears lost throughout the past two years. A celebration for being adequate on standardised testing.
A request I 'forgot.'

The night before, my mother sown the Black Tulle Skirt, one I asked for since January. She made it quickly while I burned the edges. So I slept late at 1AM and woke up at 5, like all the other graduates. I rushed through, picking up my Black Turtleneck and Little Bits of Random Necklace, given to me a few days ago.
At the insistence of my mother, I wore my Pastel Pink Shawl instead of the intended black. She justified her argument, suggesting it would be too grim for a light-hearted event. That which I arrived late, stumbling into hall during prayers.
I received my awards, my friends received their awards and we all went for pizza later that day. A quiet afternoon spent with friends, all exhausted and ready to sleep.
I couldn't ask for a better way to end Graduation Day.
