A grand Venetian in love with art, and passion and wonder. Instead, I am Bruneian in love with the illusions of Venice. Though we may have the Venice of The East in our Water Village, I yearn Venice herself.

Sammy Dress* has helped me achieve that dream. To an extent. With this glorious skirt, it inspired me to fashion an outfit based on Venice. The skirt is perfect. Sammy Dress itself?

Well...

Sammy Dress is a Chinese Wholesale store. Popular I'm assuming with its clothes seen around many Instagram stores.

In December, Sammy Dress contacted me to provide a review in exchange for some pieces. Though hesitant as first, my friend convinced me when we saw this gorgeous skirt with a print of The Floating City. Along with a white jacket, we set off the order.

That took three months to arrive.

It was a miracle when it finally arrived. Picking it up and putting it on immediately. There were problems from the start. The skirt was too large despite ordering a S, so my mother had to hem it. That was an easy fix to a skirt worth the value. The bold flared knee-length skirt has become one of my favourite pieces.

But the jacket. Oh no, the jacket. Well, that was atrocious. Fashioning itself more like a cardigan and over-sized in the worst places. I couldn't wear without wrinkling the fabric and looking sad. Because wearing it made me sad. Not only that, it's cheaply made, with a button hole too small and stained yellow for some reason. I intend to keep it but will have to go under heavy transformation.

Would I recommend Sammy Dress?

No.  No, I would not.

Though I'm grateful Sammy Dress provided me with these items, it wouldn't be right to promote them. It looks great like chocolate cake, it doesn't taste quite as nice. I found it difficult to ship orders for clothes with below average quality. That does not include the price of shipping either. There is no free shipping and prices are determined by weight. Hence, it can make $15 worth of clothes cost you $40 in total.

It's disappointing to say Sammy Dress is not worth the money but it is the truth.

Have you tried Sammy Dress? What do you think?
