Play that funky music. And pray we survive the night. Dance under strobe lights before we drop. After our hearts beat to the rhythm. Beating itself from iron casings that shatter ribs. Hold these cassettes close to our chests, needing KISS to survive. Listening to vinyls muted children's cry.

Don't leave me this way, in a crowded room full of strangers. It's silent on the dance floor. Deafening music hide clattering guns cocking. The song plays well and we all fall.

I will survive. They won't.

Never thought I'd ever wear flared pants. Never thought I'd ever enjoy flared pants. Never thought I'd ever love flared pants. Yet here I am.

I'm not a complicated girl. Not in life, and not in fashion. Keep it simple. Thus, I like my denim dark, skinny and fitted. These bottoms are none of those things. Instead, these Forever 21 Flared Denim Pants are rustic, high-waisted and flared. And gorgeous, most definitely gorgeous.

Apparently, they were 'on trend' last year due to the resurgence of 70s style. Which I completely missed, as expected of me. Always blissfully ignorant about the latest style. These pants aren't even mine.

My cousin handed these pants down to me, which I had to hem. They were for normal-sized people, not for the tiny. Once my mother hemmed them, I set off the next day. I paired it with a basic Black Zara Shirt and my favourite White ShawlbyVSnow Shawl. And to be completely honest, I have not felt this snazzy since last year.

Perhaps a pair of pants can reinvigorate my garish wardrobe. Which is ironic since they came from the most garish era. We can all learn a lesson from the seventies. Be fun and free in a solemn time. After all, what else can you do?

What's your favourite part of the 70s?
