16 Things To Do In 2016

Little mini-resolutions for the new year. Perfect for people who want to achieve just enough

R E S O L U T I O N S   A R E   O V E R R A T E D

I say this as someone who adores New Years' Resolutions with many over the years. And failed most of them. Maybe it's because I am indifferent to the 'New Year, New Me' policy that many see to take up this year. The belief that a new year will change you for an optimistically better year.

Good for them! Not for me.

But there are things we can do. Little things that can make the new year worthwhile. Here are 16 Things To Do in 2016!

A Bruneian Blogger's Mini-Resolutions!

1 | Travel to somewhere else. Rome, perhaps? Or that part of town you never visit.

2 | Listen to new music, whether it is the upcoming blue-haired singer or old jazz from the 30s.

3 | Make a friend. They don't have to become life-long friends, or even Facebook friends. Just friends to make that day.

4 | Finish a project you were suppose to finish in 2015. You know which one I'm talking about.

5 | Take a much-needed break.

6 | Stop having such unattainable fitness goals. Starting drinking more water and eating more fruits and veggies.

7 | Reduce time on social media. You don't need to update your life story on Twitter everyday.

8 | Take up a new hobby. Might I suggest knitting or starting a blog!

9 | Love yourself. Love yourself more than the world ever will.

10 | Enjoy things genuinely and love unconditionally.

11 | Take more risks with caution

12 | Stop hurting yourself for the sake of hating. It's not helping anyone.

13 | Remove drama, and people who seek drama.

14 | Start breathing when you're suffocating. Then you will know you're still alive.

15 | Accept apologies you may never receive. Forgiveness is a strength, often mistaken for weakness.

16 | Learn to say goodbye, and learn to let go.

A blog post about mini-resolutions.

Boy, this just got super emotional.

I deliberately left this post vague so you, and by extension me, can make what you will with it. Not everyone's resolutions are the same. But they are characteristics that tie them all together. Consider this a broad overview for 2016, than specific must-do's and have-to's.

So what will you do in 2016?

  32. This is a great list of things to embrace/ accomplish for 2016- yet many of them are easier said than done for sure! I find it especially hard to forgive people who have let me down, but it's pointless wasting time to be upset.

  33. Very inspiring post that everyone needs to take note from. It's important to remember that resolutions aren't made to be unattainable or setting yourself up for failure. I think most people forget that taking little steps and creating milestones is sometimes better than making a giant leap.

  38. This post was amazing! I can totally relate with not achieving most of my New Year's resolutions. I think that we need to be more realistic with the goals we want to set. This year I just want to incorporate a GVO lifestyle (Good Vibes Only) because I seem to get worked up and upset over petty things and let people take advantage of me. Here's to a more happier 2016. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog throughout 2015 and I hope 2016 brings you and your blog a lot of happiness and wealth both materialistically and spiritually.

  39. I don't take up New Years Resolutions as well, if I want to change something, I usually start right away, but sometimes the New Year can mark a point of reflection. And then you realize that there are some things that don't make you feel better and you make an effort to change them.

  65. Yeah, I'm not so big on the new year, new me thing either. So for my year, I'm focusing on the things that I'm already doing - but just doing it better and with more consistency. I would have liked to add sketching something new every day to my list, but it's not very realistic because I haven't drawn/sketched consistently for the past few years.

Travel always add excitement to the year. I set my goal to explore more local places instead of just out of the state/country. Small adventures can be just as great! :)
