Let's talk about them.
Last year I had a Currently series, a summary of every month written at the end of said-month. This is a spin-off from that. Instead of summing life in categories, it would be easier to pick the five highlights of the month. Whether goals, or products or events.

Young, bold and style icon in her own right.
A ferocious blend of bold monochromes and Korean-inspired style. Angela from Metallic is our guest writer for today's post! Only sixteen years old, she has become one of my favourite upcoming bloggers in Brunei. Just a babe when I met her in secondary school, now grown up.
So go say Hi Angela!

Cold. So bloody cold.
Last December, I was lucky enough to travel to Japan over the holidays. A foreign country, rich in its unique culture. We spent the first few days in Yokohama, Japan's second largest city. Surprising as it was quiet and almost desolate when we stayed there.
We managed to film some of our travels. So here is my first Travel With Me!

It is a necessity.
I'm a simple girl who adores highlight. If I can step out the house, looking like I'm glowing in the eternal, then I will. When my head turns, the glow must be blinding. I never thought there would be such a highlighter. Then TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer walked into my life.
What a momentous day for highlight it was.

My first product review in almost half a year! Wow. Why do I call myself a beauty blogger? I'm terrible at scheduling product reviews. My apologies to every respectable beauty blogger in the blogosphere. Jokes aside, I missed reviewing products. So I thought I could start off with this little tube of foundation! The first drugstore foundation I bought in almost a year.
So how is it? Well...

At least I do. On the days you want to feel prettier than you already are, makeup is available. Patting faces in powders and carefully curated liner and lashes. In only two hours, you go from a bare three to a solid 7.5. Self-esteem levels explode without any prior confidence necessary.
So in my first Youtube tutorial, I decide to amp up a simple look for those 'once-in-a-while' pretty days. Excuse my bare naked face.

Of what to do's, and what not to do's. Ingrained in our brains since childhood. Developed until teenagehood. Ignored by adulthood and eventually repeated by elderhood. We are in an endless cycle of rules and regulations. Most of them set by ourselves.
It's difficult to decide what rules to follow when we don't know what is there to do. So many things to do and not to do.
So what do you want to do?

Welcome to another segment called ‘Bash Spends Too Much on Pretty Things to Trick People into Thinking She Is a Pretty Thang.’
I was fortunate enough to spend the first half of December in Japan and Singapore. One, an exotic land of rich culture I have never experienced. The other, a place I visit every so often it becomes customary place. In Japan, I managed to pick up a few Asian beauty products out of interest. In Singapore, I managed to spend even more.
So much for saving money.

I feel like I should be more excited. Instead I am nervous, anxious and hungry. An empty stomach cannot eat when bones are rattling and blood pumping with energy. Though, why I am remains the question.
After all, this is not my first YouTube video.

Which is surprising for a neurotic, by-the-book, perfectionist like myself. So when I sat down today, scrolling through blogs’ endless New Years’ resolution, I thought about mine. And realized I had none.
Not because 2015 was a perfect year (it wasn’t at all) but because I hadn’t thought about it. 2016 felt like it was just another day, not another year. That doesn't mean I don’t have goals for the new year. I tell myself as I scribbled down my general goals. After all, ‘New Year, New Me’ right?
Here are 2016 New Years’ Resolutions! Well, more like goals.

An ingot of a man.You rise from rooftops and build bridges from scrap. A hero to us all but only for me. My invulnerable man. You claimed to have saved me. From the clanging creatures in cities you created. So you abandoned me amongst these desolate trees and forsaken leaves.
"It will be okay." Your cold whispers shivered my skin. I leaned against your malleable touch, painted gold by the sun but copper in my eyes. Your obsidian stare held mine. So you can say, "I will always be here."
But then you turned to rust. For your iron-clad heart and brass knuckles, corroded against my saline tears.

Perhaps I am a sucker for pretty things that makes things prettier. Perhaps I'm conforming to the style of Instagram babes and YouTube personalities. Perhaps I just want to look nice.
I've been starting to use false eyelashes more often. For everyday wear when I want to feel pretty without going too overboard. You can argue that wearing eyelashes is already too much. I thought that too. Then I put on E.Asbellah False Eyelashes* and life changed.
I truly am a sucker for pretty things that makes things prettier.

I say this as someone who adores New Years' Resolutions with many over the years. And failed most of them. Maybe it's because I am indifferent to the 'New Year, New Me' policy that many see to take up this year. The belief that a new year will change you for an optimistically better year.
Good for them! Not for me.
But there are things we can do. Little things that can make the new year worthwhile. Here are 16 Things To Do in 2016!
