Beauty | Daily Skincare Routine

A few people requested a daily skincare routine. It's been long requested since I started this blog. My normal-dry skin doesn't have any exceptional problems. On most days, it's clear and clean with dark circles and milia that I keep in check.

My mother forced me to follow a skincare regime when I was 12, and I've continued since. I thank her for good genetics and insistence on skincare. She kept my skin clear with three essentials; cleanser, toner, moisturizer. I've expanded my routine since then.

So if you'd like to know what products I use, then keep reading on!

Nivea Refreshing Cleansing Foam | I've used this cleanser for years now. Though there have other cleansers, I always got back to this cleansing foam. I always feel refreshed after use. It does leave the skin tight and a little dry, since it is foam. This tingly feeling disappears once I apply my moisturizer.

Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Scrub | Yes, it is for acne-prone skin. No, I don't have acne but I do have milia. Little raised bumps around my forehead, sides of my nose and under eyes. Since the scrub contains salicylic acid, it keeps the bumps at bay. I use the scrub twice a week. Well, if I can remember.

Bio-Essence Hydra Tri-Action Aqua Refreshing Toner | What a fantastic toner. Hydrating, refreshing and just a wonderful toner all around. I love looking at the dirt on the cotton pad. I wish I could control how much liquid gets out though. Sometimes, it just drenches the cotton pad to the point I can't use it.

OXY 5 Pimple Medication Cream | I use this product only when my milia arises or when I discover a pimple. Which is admittedly rare. Perhaps once a year or so. (If you desire to throw mud in my face, join the others) This lotion does clear the breakout but does dry the skin on occasion.

Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment | Easily the most expensive product in my routine, and easily my favourite. It leaves my eyelids and under eye moisturised, which is required after I wear thick eye makeup. It also brightens my dark circles. They don't vanish but I don't look like a zombie. Problem? It finishes too darn quickly.

Nivea Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream | This is my second tub this year. This moisturiser is thick and takes a while to settle into the skin. It does what it says it could and more. It's moisturizing and keeps the face feeling nice and well.

Garnier Sakura White Night Cream | It's soft and creamy, and leaves a cooling sensation. A night cream said to lighten and brighten the skin which does. Sometimes, I hesitate to admit I use this. It's one of the few good night creams found but derives from deep, ingrained shadism in Asia. But that's another post for another time.

Guardian Sun Protection Face & Body Mist SPF 50 | Your run in the mill sunscreen. It's okay, and there's nothing special. It's affordable, and easy to use. In all honesty though, I'm just trying to empty it. I might as well find a moisturizer with SPF, than use this.

Wow. I slap a lot of product on my face.

I'm only eighteen and apply eight products on my face on a regular basis. Yes, it can be argued that this is to keep my skin clear and controlled. But even I was surprised when I collected them all to take these photos.

Stop it Bash, stop.

So what products do you have in your skincare routine? I'd love to know!

  4. The Garnier scrub sounds really nice and perfect for me as I'm really acne prone. I need to start taking my skincare more seriously as it is not in the best of states right now!

  9. You definitely have your skincare down so well, I've always been curious what you do because your skin looks so flawless in photos!

Milia sucks! I had no idea I had it until a few months ago when I was on Google and had narrowed it down from severe skin diseases, and figured out my bumps were so stubborn and wouldn't go away. I'll definitely have to try out the Garnier scrub! Do most products meant for acne work well for you?

  10. Wow you do use a lot (compared to me, anyway). I just use Olay exfoliating cleanser and then Lubriderm to moisturize. But I really do need to use more product, especially with the acne problems I have :/

  11. I usually use cleanser-toner-moisturizer and then either a serum or a face oil. Sometiems I use a different moisturizer just for the forehead because I break out there often. The tarte eyecream is on my wishlist...I've been using a sample of bobbi brown hydrating eye cream but I want something that actually brightens my eyes!

  17. Hey Bash! Happy Saturday ;) Thank you for your supportive comment on my blog. It has been rough getting settled here in NY but comments like yours seriously make such an impact!

As your for skin, I think we have similar textures. What do you do to get rid of the milia? Nothing I do seems to work :(

  19. Am I the only who doesn't actually have daily skincare routine :/ I might as well try some of these products. Garnier Scrub pure active caught my eye. I've heard many positive feedbacks about this (after Ponds). I used a different Garnier scrub(the green one, not sure what), I grew pimples, so I stopped using it. But I might try this pure active. Sounds great actually.

  20. Great post! I've never been a fan of makeup and rely on skincare to make my skin look and feel healthy (thanks, mum!) so I also use quite a few products all from the REN range :)

  21. Thank you so much for sharing this. I think it's great to have an established skincare routine since you are a teen. I was not that perfect when I was 12:) I think I started to be more interested in skincare and makeup at about your age. I guess we need more and more products as we age:)

  22. For me, I'd always really prefer skincare products over makeups. I think it's because I'm really fond of taking care of my skin, and that's okay. You look really flawless in your photos and I could see why, haha. I follow a skincare regime too and it has kept most of my acnes from high school away for years now. :)

  27. You have a LOT of skin products! I honestly wouldn't even think you'd need all of these, but most products sound great. Definitely interested in the Tarte eye treatment. I love that brand.
