Tags. So much fun, and a suprising amount of work.

A few days ago, the ever-amazing Colleen from Coo Coo for Coco tagged me in the Blogger Interview Series Tag. It's been ages since I did a tag post, the Versatile Blogger tag in March. A lot has happened since then, and I thought this tag was a great way to answer some questions about blogging as well.

So let me say hey, and answer some general blogging questions!

How did you get into blogging?

The idea of starting of blog had been a reoccurring one. One random day in the middle of last year, I decided to just click 'Create Blog.'

Initially, I started blogging to showcase my makeup portfolio. While I still do makeup as a freelance job, this blog has definitely expanded. Writing has always been a love of mine. Something about jotting down endless lexicons soothed me. I wanted a place where I could write, and be proud of what I wrote.

What advice would you give to a blogger just starting out?

Just do it. As Nike as always tells us to.

The greatest fear when blogging is that our content won't be as good as everyone else. It's a justified fear but an irrational one too. The truth of the matter is, we're going to suck. No one is ever going to be good at first try. I say this as someone who cringes at her old blog posts and badly edited photos. You will suck but you will get better. All you have to do is just do it.

What would be your dream campaign?

Shouldn't I join a campaign first before I have a dream campaign?

I'd love to be involved in a campaign for children's needs, education, and/or women. To join one that helps the world out is always an incredible experience. I love working with children, promoting education, and women's rights to a wider audience. If I could do that through blogging, or in any way I can, then it's the dream. (Oh, and traveling to Paris would be nice too)

Do you have a plan for your blog?

Oh so many plans.

I tend to be prepared and planned for everything, blogging included. I have a blogging plan that I stick to and used well. But I will admit, I have been putting blogging aside until exams finish. There are so many things to do that I am excited to do but I will have to wait to do. As much as I love being a blogger with plans, I am a student with ambition first.

What do you think about rankings?

I have a fickle relationship with rankings. Like every blogger does honestly.

On one hand, rankings don't define quality of work, nor are there important in real life. On the other, it shows I have a significant readership and have the empirical evidence. There are days when followers are important, and days when followers are insignificant. In reality, its content that matters. And I hope my rankings reflect my content.

So who are the unlucky few I'm tagging?

Rachel from Willow Tea
Lily Kate from Joli House
Ira from Journal of Style
Dara from Hola Darla
Nadia from Nutmegazine
Fifi from The Rustic Trove
Amanda from Amanda Says

Check these lovely ladies out and try out the tag! It's such a fun tag, especially when you need to know more about you and your blogging experience! So I'd love to know things about your experience!

What made you start blogging?

  1. I loved this tag, it's a really good idea ! I will check out all the other bloggers you tagged.
To answer your question I don't remember why I first started blogging. I think it seemed like a normal thing to do at the time (I was very young when I had my first blog). But for the one I'm currently using I guess it's just a desire to share and express my point of view and opinion on various subjects.

    1. Dear Bash! So sweet of you to tag me, dear! It would be a pleasure to do this tag post. Very intersting to read, why you've started blogging and ever since you're doing a great job! Also agree with your advice for newbies... it was a shame of mine to wait so long for an oppurtunity to blog! I love your attitude to make this world a bit better, you're such a brave heart!!! <3 As a student too I totally feel you and furthermore coulnd't agree with you more on rankings.

  21. Pretty interesting answers! I'd love to be in the same campaign as well. I most probably wanted to be in a movement where women are treated fair and with respect. Anyway, I think what made me start a blog was when I became so stressed that all I could really think of was to let out my feelings in an online diary. I guess that counts, right? Blogging way back then involved more of rants than the contents we see today, I guess. :)

  26. Great advice about just do it. That's so important for new bloggers. I know how it can be a bit overwhelming since there are already so many other bloggers out there (especially the well established ones), but believing in yourself and just starting is the best advice.
