Tuesday, 31 March 2015

March has been a very busy month. Model UN, UNICEF Workshops, the overwhelming sense of exams around the corner. I'm so thankful it's school break right now. I'm not so thankful that I'll have to study for the majority of it. I love to study as much as the next person, but I wish for a break sometimes.

In all, my March was hectic. So many events happened that I can't sum up in just one post but I'd like to try. It's good though. I like being distracted. I like doing things. I like feeling important.

So anyway, here is my March!

Doing | Essay plans. Oh, so many essay plans. I've been preparing questions in advance to do over the next two weeks. I don't need to waste my time searching for essays. I've also been writing more. Nothing special, just short stories here and there for fun. It's enough for me to be proud. Sometimes, I wish I wrote more, and sometimes, I wish I was proud enough to show people what I wrote.

Watching | Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! Ellie Kemper is just perfect for the role as the determined and weird Kimmy Schmidt! The show blends the hilariously dark premise with bright optimism. It's such an oddball comedy that I didn't expect to love as much as I do. I finished the show in one sitting in a whole afternoon. If you're a fan of 30 Rock, I highly recommend it.

Listening | I don't listen to Top 40 hits. It's not my kind of music, but we all have that guilty pleasure. Mine has to be Taylor Swift. I haven't heard Blank Space until this month and I just listened to Style two days ago. I can't stop listening to them. The lyrics are much more meaningful than most songs these days. I think T-Swift is getting to me. (Though I have yet to watch either music videos)

Loving | On my last Currently here, I said I was preparing for a Model UN. I absolutely loved it. There were such great people there and I missed being up on the podium, scaring everyone with opinions. I was also involved in Seeds this month. It is a fantastic dramatic society and recently had its' first workshop of the year which I'll talk about in-depth soon. You can check out here.

MakingIt's been such a long time since I have done a creative makeup look. I made quite a few last year but I've just been so busy. Since it's break now, I've been making props for some avant-garde looks. Though I don't know when I'll actually use them, what I can say is that one look involves a heart made out of gelatin, and another made with a black flower crown.

Planning | Being as meticulous as I am, I've been planning my study schedule in advance during this holiday break. Exams are coming up and I want to spend my time efficiently. I'm a study bunny, I like setting up my calender and following it. Yet it also reminds me of how much of a nerd I am. It's okay though cause nerds are cool. At least, that's what I tell myself at night.

Reading | Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Porter. All my friends have been recommending this book because it's 'amazing'. I'm halfway into the book and all I can say is a rousing 'Meh.' I don't understand the appeal yet. Perhaps I have to read further on. But, I have read Lisa Genova's Still Alice which I mentioned in my February Book Haul here. Quick review: Five stars. Just read it.

So how was your March? Any thing exciting happened? I'd love to know! See you in April!
